Northern Irish rising star Tom McKibbin, aged just 22, officially joined LIV Golf’s Legion XIII team ahead of the 2025 season. Confirmed by team captain Jon Rahm, the move places McKibbin alongside Rahm, Tyrrell Hatton, and Caleb Surratt. Having secured dual DP World and PGA Tour membership through the 2024 Race to Dubai, McKibbin opted to forgo his PGA Tour debut in favor of a multi-year deal reportedly worth around $5 million.
McKibbin’s move represents a calculated risk, a lucrative leap into a rapidly evolving golf landscape. With growing confidence and promising performances, he could yet prove that for emerging talents, the unconventional path holds the greatest potential.
McKibbin wasted no time making his presence felt. He tied for 15th in his debut at Riyadh, helping Legion XIII to a team victory, followed by a T7 finish in Adelaide. By then, he ranked 13th in individual points - only Rahm ranked higher among his teammates.
More recently, he’s entered a solid rhythm with consecutive top finishes - T5 in Dallas and T4 at Andalucía, raising his confidence as the season reaches its climax.
